Service history: Sgt. William E. Kramer served in the Air Transport Command in Europe and the Pacific/China-Burma-India (CBI) Theater, qualified as an aerial gunner and radio operator/mechanic. In India, he served with the 1345th Army Air Force Base Unit in Tezgaon and Kurmitola, India - their mission was flying the "Hump" to supply China.
