Service history: Corporal Hopkins served in the 7th Infantry Division “Light” at Fort Ord, California. There he assisted in the deployment of the 7th Infantry Division in Operation JUST CAUSE (Panama) in 1989. In 1990 he was deployed to Operations DESERT SHIELD / DESERT STORM, attached to the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). In 1992 while attached to the 7th Infantry Division he was deployed to southern California in Operation GARDEN PLOT (Los Angeles riot).
