Service history: Alfred Conrad initially enlisted in Company B, Fremonts Rangers Home Guard; when that unit was disbanded, he served in Company M, 5th Regiment of Cavalry, Missouri State Militia, and Company F, 12th Regiment of Cavalry, Missouri State Militia. After the war, he was a member of the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR), Erich Pape Post 184.
