Rank: Technical Sergeant

Service history: Technical Sergeant Richey served 3 1/2 years in the European Theater with the 30th Air Depot Group, 9th Air Force. He enlisted at Patterson Field, Ohio, then trained at Stinson Field in San Antonio, Texas. The 30th ADG arrived at RAF Stansted on 07 August 1943, supporting the B-26 Marauders of the 344th Bombardment Group (Medium). After the Normandy landings, TSgt Richey's unit moved forward to Beauvais-Tille, France, Tirlemont/Tienen, Belgium, and finally to Illesheim, Germany. He left Marseilles, France on 11 December, 1945 aboard the Liberty Ship SS John Trumbull, disembarking at Newport News, Virginia on New Years Day, 1946.
