Veterans Roll of Honor: ANTHONY (TONY) COSENTINO

Branch of Service: United States Navy

Rank: Boatswain's Mate Second Class

Service history: BM2c Anthony "Tony" Cosentino served aboard the USS Nelson until after her stern was blown off by being torpedoed by a German E-Boat (PT Boat) a few days after the landings in Normandy. By summer of 1945, he was in the Pacific, aboard the USS Graffias, and landed some of the first troops to go into Nagasaki. In November 2010, he was awarded the Order of Chevalier of the Legion of Honor by France.
